Our History

In the early 1960's, increased growth in the Fredericksburg area business community showed Motorola that a need for quality communications existed here. To facilitate that need, Motorola sent its best technicians from Arlington, Virginia. They built a Motorola-owned service center in Stafford County, Virginia. In 1995, The Rappahannock Service Center was purchased by it's Service Manager, William S. Hoovler and Andrew W. Wine, and became known as Communication Specialists, Inc. Three years later, CSI moved into a newly constructed 7,500 square foot facility, offering better access for customers with more space for service and installations.

Since then, as a Motorola radio dealer and Service Center, Communication Specialists couples an outstanding sales team with Motorola factory-trained technicians and installers. We offer Motorola wireless products, as well as a variety of services including monthly maintenance contracts, radio programming, and flat rate depot repairs. We specialize in public safety, and have become the paramount source of emergency lighting in the area. We also offer many other options for public safety equipment and communications systems. And, of course, we can always supply you with Motorola original parts, accessories and batteries, as well as our TRBO AdvantEDGE Digital Radio System.
